Free Bikes for those in need.
Gently used bikes for those with means.
Since 2022, Anson’s Bike Buddies has donated over 300 bikes to families in Hood River County School District.
We receognize that a key barrier to riding to school is owning a bike, so the Safe Routes to School program partners with Anson’s Bike Buddies. Megan Ramey teaches kindergartners and 5th-8th graders in PE class and always asks who needs a bike at home. Sometimes a donation to a child leads to caregivers who want a bike, too.
If you are looking for a really nice, used road bike or another specific use, we will sell it to you as a donation to the organization for less than Craigslist prices. Please reach out to Kyle Ramey at kyle@bikabout.com.
VOLUNTEER
You don’t need to be a professional bike mechanic. We help each other learn new tricks. Every Thursday, we get together at the shop to donate bikes, diagnose bikes donated from the community and work on them. Ferment Brewery donates beer, Domino’s donates pizza and we listen to KEXP radio while sharing stories of getting outside.
