  • Walk to School Bus

    Join our walking bus to school, every Thursday at 7am, September 5 - October 31st!

    We will meet at 3661 Mud Alley Road at 7am and walk less than 1/2 mile along the Puma Path to school, waking up our bodies with our friends.

  • Bike and Walk Rodeos in PE Class

    We have a brand new bike shed and new bikes and helmets for kinders and 4th-5th graders!

    Thanks to the Mid Valley PTO for winning an ODOT Innovative Mobility grant to fund the shed and bike fleet.

    Fall of 2024 will be our first time using the bikes for education in PE class.

    In addition to learning how to ride, building biking confidence, basic safety and law education, we will take the students on walking and biking field trips of the Puma Path.

    Throughout the year, Mid Valley Elementary will join students around the globe as we celebrate these special events:

    Thursdays will be Mid Valley's walk & roll day throughout the year:

    October 10 - International Walk & Roll to School Day

    November 14 - Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day

    February 13 - Winter Walk to School Day

    April 24 - Earth Day

    May 8 - National Bike Month

  • Infrastructure

    Mid Valley Elementary has 2 exciting opportunities to plan for safer walking and bikeways for the students:

    1. Oregon DOT Safe Routes to School planning process for the County, beginning in January 2026.

    2. The Safe Routes to School program partnered with ODOT to win a Youth Active Transportation grant from the Goveror's Highway Safety Association.

  • Free Gorge Pass

    Students, 5th-12th grade, receive a free Gorge Pass, for unlimited rides on Columbia Area Transit (CAT) and partners. You can also put your bike on the bus to help you get from home to destinations within the Gorge.
    Get your pass:

    1 - from your school office

    2 - with your guardian and student ID from CAT Transit at 224 Wasco, Hood River
